About
The Washinton D.C. Avid Users Group is a community of professionals from production, editing, effects and graphics as well as student, faculty and digital enthusiasts. The Washington D.C. Avid Users Group is dedicated to education and training members on advancements in video and editing technology with a special emphasis on Avid and third party products and the techniques to get more from your systems. From tips and techniques to user case studies to industry event show and tell to demos.
By establishing a broad-based support mechanism, we hope to create a forum of collaboration between each member. We welcome your contribution in any form, whether it be as a meeting presenter or attendee, or a web-based reviewer, tutorial writer, or simply a forum contributor, we welcome and value your patronage.
User Groups are also a great way to meet other like-minded professionals and video enthusiasts. User Groups give you a venue to connect with professionals and peers in a relaxed casual setting. Being a leader in a User Group can also raise your visibility in your community and boost your career. Joining an Avid User Group enables you to make valuable connections with the professional community, network while you share ideas and experiences, get valuable tip and tricks and expand your Avid skills. You will also see new Avid systems and software and third party products and hear guest presenters talk about their projects, tools and techniques.
User groups are created by users for users. Avid does not run these groups so it is important to have leadership from within the community. Avid values these groups and is happy to support them in a variety of ways. Avid also values the important product feedback that often comes from User Groups. It’s a great way for you to be heard.
